I searched online for what that turtle beast was and I actually was able to find some info on it. Of course I had to do a search for sites that have photos. I got lucky. It's called an Eastern spiny softshell turtle. Nickname: pancake.
I still think it is creepy.

Yes, they look like beasts. And thats what the guy said at work what he was, a soft shell turtle. He said that snapping turtles have a beak like nose and mouth.
