Curious Minds Want to Know

General Population: Where did you get the name?

And Jason has written the perfect explanation:

A baby name book... Joyce wanted something "different". We wanted a "Z" name. We started with "B" for Ben, then "A" for Aaron, so going backwards, "Z" was next. I didn't like Zoe, Zeta, or Zena. Then, while looking at a baby name book I saw this...
Zemirah: Joyous Melody, Hebrew
Well, Joyce means joyous too, and she's half-Hebrew. So, it was different, started with a Z, and names her after her Mommy...
Perfect for us.

Genevieve is what she was going to be named before we found Zemi. We liked it so much we still wanted to use it, so it became the middle name.

I love when parents choose their children's names for meaning as well as the interesting factor. I think you have chosen so beautifully. I'm sure she will grow up to be so proud of this gift you have blessed her with.

And thanks for popping by my blog! No interesting baby news there (maybe in a year or two ;) but hopefull something interesting for you check out every now and then!
Bless!

Joyce,

I love the name. Both the first and middle name. It's different and beautiful. The letter "Z" has always been the hardest one for me to pronounce. But if I had a child with a name that started with "Z", I'd get lots of practice!

I love the name. When I became pregnant with my 3rd child, I knew immediately it was a girl. I also knew her name would be Melody Joy...and so it is!
