A first

Since the kids were babies, I have always been able to do their laundry all in one load. Both of them together. One Load. For 6 years now.

When did it evolve to the point where I need to seperate their clothes into piles by color? Like I do for me and my husband. Tonight I started the kid's laundry, and for the first time, I had to seperate it. There was so much! I noticed that most of their clothes are red or navy blue. I have one blue load, one red load and one white load. They are very patriotic huh?

Why all of a sudden do I have to sort their clothes? How did that happen?

One theory: Their clothes are getting bigger, so I have to wash less at a time. Why have I just started to sort them now? Their clothes have been gradually getting bigger each half a year. I guess I am behind on laundry?
But, I just did all the laundry!!
Or so it seems I did anyway.

Ironically, I have more clothes than any of the guys here, but when I do laundry, I always have less to fold and put away of mine than I do of theirs.
Weird.
I'd rather do laundry than the dishes though.

Oh, I don't mind doing laundry at all. Really. I was just wondering when did I get to where I have to sort the kids clothes. Laundry is the easiest housework I have.

I don't mind doing laundry, I don't mind folding, I just don't like putting them away. Sounds silly, I know. You should try doing laundry for 9 people every day, you wouldn't like it so much then. I taught those kids quick how to do their own.

Joyce, my sister has one son and one daughter. For a while, her washing machine wasn't working and she washed her clothes at my house. I could wash all Don's and my laundry as well as the children's in 3 loads a week. My sister had about 9 loads. I helped her fold a dark load and she had 6 pairs of jeans in it - that was ALL! The clothes were so much larger (her husband and son are well over six feet) that they just took up lots of space, thus more loads. I was amazed and thankful for my LITTLE children.
