I also do mac and cheese or soup occassionally in a thermos. Also, I let Tres buy his lunch once a week to break up the mundane a little bit.Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07702145768002393682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972407.post-30620035555843239172008-09-05T12:04:00.000-05:002008-09-05T12:04:00.000-05:00Tried posting this one before?? Then cut them in thin finger size strips and refrigerate. She eats them cold the next day as a finger food...worth a try :)!Nikkihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05363305793046681773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972407.post-26080112955282090012008-09-04T17:34:00.000-05:002008-09-04T17:34:00.000-05:00We just had the same problem at my house. The kids asked me to get them each a thermos and pack something warm like mac & cheese or chicken noodle soup (they had seen friends at school with lunches like that). I warm it up in the micro so it's piping hot and then it's still warm by lunch. It's a nice alternative to the sandwich.Sweetwater Savingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10540754153785842554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972407.post-8012395617312995162008-09-04T07:04:00.000-05:002008-09-04T07:04:00.000-05:00I like lunchables!!!I like lunchables!!!Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01725402954787224864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972407.post-29585998161992376062008-09-03T22:52:00.000-05:002008-09-03T22:52:00.000-05:00Veggie sticks, cheese sticks, fruit slices.Try usi...Veggie sticks, cheese sticks, fruit slices.
Try using different breads like pita pockets, rye bread, or pumpernickel, even english muffins or bagels!
Alternate the kind of sandwich they have.
I made grilled cheese for my kids with mozzarella instead of american or cheddar, then gave them pizza dipping sauce! And still do for my grown son who lives at home with us and mows lawns for a living.

As far as ideas other than sandwiches, how about some sliced meat and cheese and they can make cheese and meat rollups.
